She previously attended the University of The Bahamas and graduated from St. Georges High School in Grand Bahama in 2016.
“My primary goal is to develop Human-Computer Interaction products, such as interfaces and applications, that empower young Bahamians to express themselves through various forms of art. Previous studies like Sojung, produced VR short films on students exhibiting their COVID-19 lockdown experiences through digital media. This was showcased at a film festival in Los Angeles, California in 2021. I aspire to extend and advance similar projects.
In addition to working on digital media projects, I am interested in helping Bahamians develop their talents and promote cultural appreciation. Despite the development stages of my goals, there is potential to incorporate digital media into a creative arts centre. Therefore, I would like to establish a creative arts center that serves as a resource for learning languages, embracing technology, honing artistic skills, and presenting our unique Bahamian culture. This centre will not only provide valuable educational opportunities for Bahamian youths but also serve as a cultural attraction for tourists eager to immerse themselves in the Bahamian heritage. In the long-term, this initiative can result in providing opportunities for Bahamian youths to gain international recognition, which will not only stimulate their confidence and talent, but also produce future endeavors and collaborations on a global scale. Moreover, this initiative can lead to the growth and development of the Bahamian youth and foster the tourism industry.
Although The Bahamas is renowned for its sun, sand, and sea, it is the potential and talent of youths that truly define us. However, unlocking this potential requires more than just natural beauty, but also demands investment in education, mentorship, and guidance. I am unable to single-handedly transform the trajectory of The Bahamas, but I am committed to contributing alongside those who have long been dedicated to uplifting our youth.
In conclusion, I am driven to use digital media to empower Bahamian youth, promote our culture, and showcase talent globally. Through initiatives like creating digital art platforms and establishing a creative arts centre, I hope to impact the future of our country by investing in the potential of our youth.
